I learned a new word in church on Sunday.
The Greek had two words for time.
Chronos which popular means Chronological time, translates into calendars — months, years, days as we know it and clocks — hours, seconds. Eg… Stephen Hawkings famous big bang theory and that Time is an Arrow and everything is falling apart, we are degenerating into chaos before the bounce back at the end of time…..
Kairos meaning opportune or “right time” or in the bible, meaning God’s time. From Wikipedia definition “a time in between”, a moment of undetermined period of time in which “something” special happens. While chronos is quantitative, kairos has a qualitative nature.
Too often we live in Chronos time because we are falsely led to believe, by our slave-masters who pay us for our time, that TIME is money. So we should NOT be allowed to waste any. So we calculate, plan and get stressed when time slips away.
Perhaps we need to think more about Kairo time. Everything happens at the right moment, not before. Take advantage of the “moment” when what you want presents itself and God-willing, it will. Work towards your moment, and wait for it to come. Even the BEST ideas presented at the wrong time, falls flat.
