Situated on the banks of River Ganges, Varanasi (formerly Benares) is considered by some to be the most holy city in Hinduism.
Hindus believe that bathing in the river on certain occasions causes the remission of sins and facilitates the attainment of salvation.

Annapurna ladies

Already the air was thin while trekking Nepal’s Annapurna Circuit.
But these beautiful young ladies took my breath away.
They were porters
and here they are taking a break from carrying a heavy load up the mountains.
